History

Chester Art Beat was started by Julie Mitchell and then Canon Jane Brooke who wanted to create a leading arts event in Chester. Taking inspiration from other walking trails, the event was created to give the public access to quality artists. The artists would also be given access to a potential new audience.

A pilot project was run in 2018. A second event was run in 2022. The third will be run in 2024.

The 2018 event had 10 artists in 8 venues. The 2022 event had 30 artists in 18 venues.
