“The Chester Art Beat is a great walking art tour open to all ages, a really diverse range of mediums, styles, and techniques with friendly artists on hand to explain their pieces. The galleries were in a range of interesting venues with plenty of opportunity to stop off for drinks and food. A must for art lovers or inquisitive souls! We visited as a family of 8 with ages from 2 to 67.”
“We found that as we walked round town looking for the next venue, we started looking at other things with “new” eyes – we were looking for works of art and so we started “finding” art in all sorts of scenes around the town that we normally just walk past and take for granted.”

Trail Map and Competition
Our trail map also includes a competition for children and adults to enter.
At 15 of our 18 venues, find out that venue’s letter clue at the artist’s work station (usually on the top corner of our charity fund raising A4 QR code sheet) and put it in the venue number’s box on the trail map. The letters form an anagram of a famous artist. When you have been to all fifteen venues, solve the anagram, then give your trail map to an artist or community volunteer. If you don’t have time to do the whole trail, have a guess and enter anyway! The venues that DON’T have a competition clue are: Brook Street Mural, Super Trees Subway and Chester Cathedral. All the rest do.
Prizes sent by early August. Good luck!
Prizes
There are twenty £25.00 gift vouchers for you to spend on art materials: ten for children age eleven years or under, ten for those over eleven.
Trail Map Leaflet is shown below – use TRAIL MAP button above to access.
Disclaimer: Chester Art Beat does not provide first aid cover of any kind. Anyone following the trail and taking part in the event does so entirely at their own risk. In the case of emergency, call 999 and seek medical help.
