You will also need to provide a basic DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) certificate. If you are planning on using any equipment or additional lighting, we will require proof of purchase (within 12 months) or a PAT test certificate. If you need further information on any of these requirements, please email creative@chesterartbeat.co.uk and we will assist you.Public OpportunitiesHave a Little Go / Study Day During the event you are welcome to ask the public if they want to 'have a go' at your practice. If you wish to provide this opportunity, we will need to discuss the practicalities and safety of this, but most venues should be able to accommodate. The focus of this activity will be on Friday 5th where we will be actively encouraging students / school children to talk to you about your practice and physically engage with a simple skill related to your work.Have a Little Go0 / 500Event CostsThe charge for participating in the event is £125 per artist. If your application is successful, you will be allocated a venue by the Creative team and will be required to pay the £125 within 7 days of being notified. You will receive confirmation of payment and can then start to liaise with your venue and the creative team. You will need to sign and return the Code of Conduct and Terms and Conditions forms and provide your Public Liability Policy document and DBS certificate by the noted date below.Timelines / DeadlinesApril 5th - All applications must be received April 19th - All successful practitioners will be contacted and allocated venues April 26th - All payments must be received May 10th - All practitioners will have contacted their venues and had or arranged a site visit by the end of May, in conjunction with the Creative Team if needed May 30th - Public Liability Insurance documents, DBS Certificates, signed Code of Conduct, Terms and Conditions forms must be received from practitioners June - All practitioners will provide assistance with social media or promotion materials and continue to promote the event in conjunction with the Chester Art Beat Publicity Manager July 4th - Set up day/evening (if venue agrees) or drop off materials July 5th - First day. Evening - Reception to celebrate and welcome practitioners. Further details will be provided with application outcome. July 6th/7th - Days 2 and 3 of the event. July 7th - Final clear down and removal of works etc. after 4pm.NoteArtists and one guest each are invited to an 'Artist Gathering' with a glass of wine and nibbles - an opportunity to meet each other, relax and catch up after day 1 of Chester Art Beat. Artist cost is included in the entry cost. However, guests are an additional £10. We'd love you to come so please let us know if you can make it below.
